The Saxophone

Most people who know me know that I play tenor saxophone. I love listening to Boney James and then, try to one-up him. Female saxophonists are actually kind of rare, so I certainly feel privileged to be one. However, most people are blissfully unaware of the true nature of this instrument with the contrary personality. Despite the fact that it's usually made of brass, it isn't classified as a brass instrument. It's a reed instrument. However, if you really want the skinny on the saxophone and its rich history and many forms, check out this nifty (but incredibly long) article by Steven William Rimmer called simply Saxophone. It's a blunt and highly entertaining piece, but more importantly, it's dead honest and extremely factual. Hope you enjoy it. It's really a good read.
